HOW DO I SIGN UP TO BE A 2K PLAYTESTER?
We’re looking for feedback from all types of players – hardcore, casual, young, old, and everyone in between. If you play games and you’re 18 years or older, we want to hear from you!
To register, create or sign into a 2K Account. You will then be prompted to complete a brief survey. Once you are signed up, you’ll be eligible to try out unreleased 2K games, apps, software, and more!

How do I sign up?

Is there an age restriction?
Yes, in order to be eligible for playtests with 2K, you must be at least 18 years old.
How/when will I be contacted?
If you fit the profile for an upcoming playtest, we’ll contact you via email with a quick survey of additional questions. If you’re not contacted right away, don’t worry! We conduct all sorts of studies and playtests, so opportunities to participate are ongoing.
Where are your playtests held?
The majority of our research is held at our offices in Novato, CA. For these playtests, you must be able to travel to the office to participate.
If you are not local to northern California, you can still sign up and participate in our playtests. We conduct studies in other locations across the US and the UK.
Can I update my information?
Yes, simply log into the playtester portal and click “Update Your Profile”.
I don’t want to be a playtester anymore. How do I opt out?
Please log into the playtester portal, click “Update Your Profile” and then click “Unsubscribe”.
I don’t play video games that often – should I still register to be a playtester?
Yes, we’re always looking for all types of gamers with different backgrounds – casual, experienced, or anything in between.
SCHEDULING & PLAYTESTING
How will I know when to come in for a session?
You will be contacted via phone or email prior to participating in session to plan your schedule. You will also receive email confirmation of your appointment time.
Will I need to sign anything?
Yes, all playtesters are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to participating.
What do I get for participating?
As a thank you for your time, playtesters may receive gift cards, copies of 2K games, or exclusive swag.
Will I know what game I’m testing before the test?
No, for security and legal reasons, we cannot provide any information about the title you’ll be testing until after you have signed a non-disclosure agreement at the beginning of your session.
Will my voice or face be recorded?
We frequently use video recording and/or streaming during our sessions. This video is only ever used for internal review and note-taking. You can opt out of this at any point while participating in a study.
I can’t make it to a playtest and need to cancel!
Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled session by contacting us over email.
Is this a job?
No, participating in a playtest is not a job and you will not be employed by 2K Games. This is a volunteer opportunity only. If you are interested in working for 2K, visit 2K Careers.
