Prepare to embark on an exciting journey, with our Engineering Grad program. This program understands your need to explore and learn, while giving you the opportunity to carve your own path. The program runs for 21 months, including 3 months of core-training and project work, followed by 18 months during which you will work directly for some incredible 2K-partnered studios, including Hangar13, HB, Visual Concepts, Firaxis, Mass Media Group and many more. Here, you will be part of the action, working directly on the games these studios publish, gaining hands-on experience working across our incredible portfolio of games.
This program runs out of two 2K offices: Novato, California and Dublin, Ireland.

The 2K Engineering Graduate Program is your gateway to becoming a future Game Developer. Over 21 months, your personalized program will encompass:
During the initial core skills rotation, learn to master essential skills required to operate in the business. This includes technical training using game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity, instructor-led project work and practical insight into professional conduct. Collaborate on exciting group projects, receive guided code reviews and excel within a professional ecosystem.
In this program, you will get the opportunity to work hands-on with some of our incredible studios, actively contributing to different areas of specialization and projects across 2K’s well-known game portfolio. These rotations expose you to diverse engineering environments and cultures, enabling you to contribute to a range of exhilarating projects, including major releases!
Placement details are organized based on factors like visa requirements, game timelines, and business needs. While primarily based in your office (Novato or Dublin), you will have opportunities to visit other studios for designated periods (subject to visa constraints).
Each candidate will have the opportunity to complete 3 studio rotations in the 21-month duration of the program.
While our graduates move through the program, we expect a shift in approach & responsibility. Here’s an overview of your 21 months.
Core Training – Months 1-3: Core Training
You’ll be given realistic tasks and challenges to complete. You’ll be working through specific engineering problems to hone your technical skills. During this period, you will have the guidance of technical trainers from the industry to review your code and teach you a range of new skills and concepts.
Studio Rotation 1 – Months 4-9: Into the Mix
You will be involved in active game development. This could include a range of projects including anything from helping contribute to the next build of one of our games, to working on developing core Gameplay components using the Unreal Engine.
During this rotation, we expect you to utilize all of the skills you have learnt from your core rotation, and continue to grow at a fast pace in the hands-on environment of the studio.
Studio Rotations 2 & 3 - Months 10-21: Watch Your Career Skyrocket
You will continue to grow and perfect your skill set, and gain opportunities to work in new areas.
We’re serious about our graduate program. Our graduates bring fresh perspectives and new ways of looking at problems. Their ideas should, and do, lead to company-wide changes in how we operate.
After 21 months, you should have a taste of the different aspects of game development and can go into specific roles within the business. This might be working in one of our incredible 2K-partnered studios, or working as a part of the larger 2K Games group. It might involve the opportunity to move to a new location.
By that point, you’ll be trained in everything from advanced engineering skills to expertise in the Unreal Engine. You will have the opportunity to develop yourself working alongside some of the best game engineers in the world
